For the purpose of strengthening commitment to do ministry up in the mountains, thirty-five tribal Pastors and volunteer workers gathered last November 22, 2016 at EFC- Marahan, Marilog District. The speakers, Pastors Renante and Delia Miguel, Senior Pastors of EFC – Mati and the Core Leaders of Davao Oriental Section, shared topics with emphasis on ministry in these last days.

The event was organized by Pastor Mivelyn Margate, Core Leader of the JECPP Tribal Ministry. She said the purpose is to encourage the tribal workers in the magnanimous task of saving the tribes. She also mentioned that they have to change the venue of the gathering to their church because of the presence of rebel groups near the vicinity of the Evangel Tribal Training Center in Ladayon, Arakan Valley. The speakers reminded them to be strong in their faith, just like Samuel who heeded and obeyed the call on his life (1 Samuel 3:1-10, 1 Corinthians 16:13). Striding through steep mountains, presence of rebel groups in the community, and sicknesses are just some hitches these tribal ministers meet along the way.

The meeting was also a venue for them to share to one another their personal struggles. Pastor Renante dwelled on Acts 2:19 where the word of God stressed that last days are perilous, but God has promised signs and wonders to follow the ministry. The burden is heavy, but greater are the rewards and joy of obedience to those who will endure, he said.

Praise and worship, intensive prayer sessions, and exchange of testimonies on this particular day brought healing in the heart and warm smiles on the faces of our brethren who bring good news in the mountains.
