One of the biggest questions is not “What is my purpose for my life? “But What is God’s purpose for my life?” Unquestionably, waking up each morning without personal purpose is incredibly frustrating. Howbeit, what is more heartbreaking is living a life without knowing God’s purpose.

Therefore, JECPP’s Oriental Mindoro Section, endeavored to address the need to know God’s divine purpose.  A youth camp was held at EFC Leido, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro last April 22-25, 2019 with the theme “Discovering God’s Purpose”.

The camp begins with a powerful message delivered by Ptr. Dwight Ryan T. Falla entitled “How can you serve God’s purpose in your generation?”. He divided his topic into two points, first is “Receive a Vision and the other is “Forsake all to pursue God’s vision.  In His message, he gazed into the life of King David and outlined the story of his extraordinary life. According to him, the youth can get a lifetime of revelations in his unusual story of being a nobody shepherd boy into a mighty king.

The following day, Rev. Eddie Falla, fortified the theme with his message entitled “Discovering God’s Purpose in your Youth”. He encouraged the delegates that in this chaotic and unsettling world, it is sometimes hard to understand how God’s purposes are being worked out in our lives.  Yet, in the midst of the confusion, fears, anxieties, and distractions of this present world, the youth can cling on to the Word of God.

In the evening Rev. Eddie encouraged the delegates with the topic entitled “Serving the Lord with all your heart.” He emphasized that God created us to serve Him. He is the giver and enabler of talents. The discovery of talents stems from the desire to be used for His glory.  Once, a believer will answer God’s call for His life, God will equip him to be effective in His Kingdom assignment.  It is up to the believer however to develop his/her God-given talents, he lovingly concluded.

The series of lessons culminated in a workshop on the “Importance of Praise and Worship”. Rev. Eddie stressed that God is looking for our sincere worship. He quoted John 4:24 “to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. He differentiated praise and worship, and expounded on three points namely: Praise glorifies God; God commanded us to praise; and we praise God for His goodness.

On the other hand, the campers had a special time for fellowship and camaraderie. They were divided into three groups and each of the group were tasked to make their own cheers and yells. They made their own personalize flag as well.

Furthermore, those who were 11 years old and below had their own separate classes spearheaded by Sis Jeannie Rose Falla, assisted by Angel Rose Falla, Marcellana and Lyka Dechosa. In the afternoons, the youth enjoyed Parlor games and Bible games. Each group were given different responsibilities through-out the camp to teach them about servanthood as well. After the sessions, the campers have their team building activity to strengthen relationships and established friendships with one another.

The 4-day camp was a great success.  The objectives to enlighten the youth about their Kingdom’s purpose were accomplished. God faithfully touched every heart and transformed it for His glory. The delegates dedicated themselves to God for His use.
