Daily Vacation Bible School (DVBS) has been a staple of summer activity for the church. Not only does it keep the church dynamic, it also fills a nook in the community by providing God-centered activity and fun for children who might never set a foot inside in a Sunday school. It was an excellent way to reach out to people in the community and a rare opportunity to connect with the kids and families in the neighborhood who do not normally attend church.

On this note, over 140 kids from different barangays in Cagayan de Oro City were gathered for the much-awaited DVBS with the theme “One Way” at Evangel Family Church- CDO on May 22-24, 2018. It was a 3-day activity for children ages 7-14 years old wherein they learned and studied the Bible in a deeper way.

The summer activity aimed to help kids know the great truths of the Gospel and the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In addition, the theme “One Way” introduced Jesus who offered salvation through His death and resurrection. The well-crafted daily lessons and activities about faith in Christ will help kids understand that Jesus is the one and only way to eternal life.

Over the years, the EFC-CDO Kingdom Kid’s teachers were the ones who taught in the DVBS. However, this year EFC-CDO was blessed to have Pastor Ever Mamac and Ms. Jessie Cemacio to handle the teaching part.  The two were anointed servants of God for Children’s Ministry. It was a rare opportunity for the volunteer teachers to observe their teaching skills and learn from them.

The 3-day DVBS was packed with activities such as group cheering, memorizing of Bible verses, Bible stories, games, lesson application singing, dancing and a lot more.

At the concluding program, all participants received a certificate as a reward in attending the said activity. Likewise, a token of appreciation was given to Pastor Ever Mamac and Ms. Jessie Cemacio for their dedication and commitment in teaching in the 3-day DVBS. All EFC CDO volunteer teachers, staffs and the rest of the DVBS team were also appreciated and recognized for a job well done. This year’s DVBS was possible through the support and guidance of Pastors Andrew  and Rowena Kwong and EFC CDO. And for making this DVBS a success, we give back all the glory to God!

Indeed, it was an exciting way of sharing the Good News of Salvation to the children and bringing them to Jesus. The DVBS has ended with a single thing that marked on all the kid’s heart: Jesus is the only way for us to be in a relationship with God. Through His love and sacrifice on the cross, we can have eternal life. It is through our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior that we can be saved.
