Twenty-six (26) married couples from Southern Mindanao Evangel Family Churches in General Santos, Polomolok, Malbang and Koronadal learn to put art into their marriage this love month.
“The Art of Marriage Seminar” held at Taps and Mix, Laurel East, General Santos City was conducted by JECPP SOCSKSARGEN section. The speakers were husband and wife Pastor Gregorio and Pastor Rosario Simpas.
More than the flowers and love notes to spark romance, the couples learn the art that spark lasting love, devotion and joy in marriage. This art does not require special talent or skill but a heart willing to die to self in order to experience freedom, healing and wholeness God intends for every married person. Since God Himself ordained the first marriage in the Garden of Eden, He has the art to make it work.
The speakers presented this art into three forms- roles of husband and wife, loving attitudes to nurture marriage and sexual intimacy.
At the end of the day, a participant wrote love letter and read it to his or her spouse. Many were in tears as they heard wedding day promises to be loved for eternity or humble request of forgiveness and chance to start over again after a serious conflict. The room was filled with so much of God’s gift of love as they held and danced in slow, romantic, healing music.
The couples also enjoyed nice city ambiance and delicious food on this post Valentine date. Added fun were the surprise gifts to the longest married couple and to the couple who just celebrated their anniversary.
