Evangel Family Church- Mati has reached its 20th year milestone in service to the Lord Jesus Christ. Last August, Rev. Delia and Rev. Renante Miguel led the congregation celebrate its 20th Church Anniversary with the scripture theme “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love is eternal. (1 Chron.16:34)”.
Guest speaker Rev. Christine Wee talked about “Treasuring the Life We Have”, an inspirational message from Luke 16:19-31 of the life of the beggar Lazarus and a rich man. Their life status switched for eternity after their death. Lazarus enjoyed the comfort and pleasures of heaven while the rich man suffered in hell. Pastor Christine emphasized what life pursuits have eternal value.
Gracing also the occasion were Rev. Peter Wee as well as the Davao Oriental outstation pastors. All these outstation pastors themselves were former young people and disciples of Pastor Delia. Before Pastor Delia married Pastor Renante, she pioneered EFC-Mati. Due to political and security conflicts in the area, the church suffered threats and closures, but Jesus is its immovable corner stone. EFC-Mati is actually the first JECPP City Church in Southern Mindanao region that acquired its own permanent place of worship. God miraculously provided a very affordable and strategic location for a church building. In the last 20 years, EFC-Mati members have not only experienced divine provisions but also testifies of healings and life transformations through the powerful Word of God.
