April 3–4, 2026 | Swilonggo Beach Resort
By: Johd Rhoe Wyl Bulanon & Charmie Lou Jano

The shores of Swilonggo Beach Resort became more than just a scenic destination—they became a sacred space where lives were touched, hearts were renewed, and a generation was reminded of its calling. As the sun rose on April 3, 2026, young people from EFC Oton, EFC San Miguel, EFC Pototan, EFC Iloilo City, and EFC Ajuy arrived with anticipation in their hearts. There was a quiet yet powerful sense that something extraordinary was about to unfold.

From the moment they arrived, the delegates were warmly welcomed by the host church from Ajuy. Smiles, laughter, and joyful greetings filled the atmosphere as youth leaders and volunteers assisted each participant. As they settled into their cottages, reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones, a beautiful picture of unity emerged—different places, yet one family in Christ.

The camp officially began with an orientation followed by a powerful time of praise and worship led by the EFC Ajuy worship team. Songs of adoration filled the air, lifting hearts toward God and preparing every soul for a deeper encounter with Him. It was evident that God’s presence was already moving, gently stirring hearts and setting the tone for what was to come.

A special number from selected youth of EFC Iloilo City ushered everyone into a reflective atmosphere before the Word of God was shared. The first message, delivered by youth leader Kezia Chavez, was titled “What Are You Behind Closed Doors” based on Psalm 139:1–2. Her message invited the youth into a deeply personal reflection, reminding them that God sees and knows everything—even the hidden parts of their lives—yet still loves them completely.

She emphasized that God sees the real person beyond appearances, and through Jesus, that truth is met not with condemnation but with grace. She encouraged the youth to value their private lives, recognizing that true character is formed in unseen moments. More importantly, she reminded them that God is not seeking perfection but transformation—a change that begins in surrender, even behind closed doors.

Another powerful message followed, delivered by BL John Chavez, titled “Start Now: Shaping the Next Generation for God” anchored on 1 Timothy 4:12. His message challenged the common belief that young people are only the future, emphasizing instead that they are already called by God today. Through the finished work of Jesus, they are already loved, chosen, and enough.

He encouraged the youth to live as examples in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. He highlighted the importance of growing spiritually before leading others, reminding them that a genuine relationship with Christ is the foundation of effective leadership. He also inspired them to begin discipleship in simple ways—reaching one person at a time, just as Jesus did.

A defining moment came when Rev. Melanie Igles led the altar call. It was more than an invitation—it was a call to surrender, to commit, and to respond to God’s purpose. As hands were raised and hearts opened, the Holy Spirit moved powerfully, bringing healing, freedom, and renewed passion for Christ. Lives were changed in that sacred moment.

The afternoon continued with fellowship over lunch, where the spirit of sharing was evident as participants gladly shared their meals with one another. It was a simple yet powerful demonstration of love and unity. Afterward, a time of rest allowed everyone to recharge—some relaxed in their cottages while others enjoyed the refreshing embrace of the sea.

The next session featured a heartfelt message from Pastor Christian Montoya titled “Total Forgiveness: Remembered No More” based on Hebrews 8:12. His message reminded everyone that God’s forgiveness is complete and unconditional. When God forgives, He does not hold the past against His people.

He emphasized that forgiveness, though often difficult, is essential. It requires letting go of pain, choosing grace over resentment, and reflecting the love God has shown. Forgiveness, he shared, not only brings healing to individuals but also shapes a better future for others. True love, as written in 1 Corinthians 13:5, keeps no record of wrongs.

The atmosphere then shifted into joy and excitement as the youth participated in interactive games that strengthened teamwork and camaraderie. Laughter filled the air as new friendships were formed and bonds were deepened, creating a vibrant and joyful environment.

As evening came, worship once again filled the campgrounds. A special song, “Coats of Many Colors” by Brandon Lake, reminded everyone of God’s transforming love—how He takes brokenness and replaces it with identity, purpose, and restoration.

Rev. Benjamin Chavez then delivered a powerful message titled “Receive the Promise of the Father” from Acts 2:1–4. He encouraged the youth to open their hearts and be expectant of God’s Spirit. His message emphasized that God’s promises are not distant—they are alive and available to those who are willing to receive.

He explained that people respond to God in different ways: some resist, some hesitate, but others fully surrender. The call was clear—to become spiritually open and ready, just like the disciples who received the Holy Spirit. As the altar call followed, the presence of God moved deeply once again, filling hearts with faith, joy, and renewed purpose.

The evening concluded with a warm and joyful bonfire fellowship. Stories were shared, laughter echoed, and meaningful connections were strengthened. It was a beautiful moment of unity, leaving everyone with a sense of belonging and community.

Day two began with a quiet devotional and heartfelt worship, setting a reflective and sincere tone for the morning. The youth gathered with open hearts, eager to grow and listen. It was more than a routine—it was a genuine encounter with God that realigned their hearts and deepened their faith.

As the camp drew to a close, breakfast became a time of cherished fellowship, filled with laughter and meaningful conversations. Though the end was bittersweet, it was also filled with gratitude. Before departing, a thoughtful surprise—stickers with Bible verses and encouraging quotes—was given as a simple yet meaningful reminder of the experience.

More than just memories, the Summer Youth Camp 2026 left a lasting impact. It reminded every participant that “Discipling Tomorrow’s Generation Today” is not just a theme—it is a mission. The lessons learned, the lives touched, and the encounters with God were not meant to stay within the campgrounds, but to be lived out daily.

With renewed faith, strengthened relationships, and hearts set on purpose, the youth left the camp inspired to become a light—ready to influence, disciple, and transform the next generation for the glory of God.
