Pastors’ Kids from Luzon and the Visayas regions convened for a transformative two-day camp held on April 17–18, 2025, at the B Lifestyle Complex Hotel in Iloilo City. The event united pastors’ children from Luzon, Central and Eastern Visayas (CEV), and Western Visayas (WV), with the aim of nurturing deeper faith and fostering encouragement among the children of ministers.
The camp officially commenced with heartfelt and inspiring opening remarks by Rev. Benjamin Chavez. He extended warm greetings to the delegates from the Luzon region, particularly those from Palawan, Mindoro, and La Union. Rev. Chavez also acknowledged the esteemed presence of participants from Central and Eastern Visayas—specifically Bohol and Tacloban—and concluded by welcoming the Western Visayas representatives, including attendees from Iloilo, Guimaras, and Antique.
Following the welcome address, the atmosphere was elevated through a vibrant session of praise and worship, led by a team of gifted and Spirit-empowered Pastors’ Kids. The worship fostered an atmosphere of reverence, expectation, and divine anticipation for the encounters to come.
The highlight of the first session was a compelling message delivered by Pastora. Jalyn Bachoco, daughter of the late Rev. Honorio Bachoco and Rev. Jocelyn Bachoco, and now the senior pastor of EFC-Laua-an, Antique. Pastora. Jalyn’s sermon, titled “How Does Faith Work?”, anchored on Hebrews 11:1 & 6, powerfully articulated that faith transcends mere belief when circumstances are favorable. True faith perseveres even in the absence of tangible results, amidst confusion, and in seasons of apparent silence from God. She emphasized that authentic faith demands daily surrender, steadfastness through trials, and unwavering obedience, driven not by reward but by the pursuit of Christlikeness.
After this impactful session, a 15-minute coffee break provided an opportunity for the delegates to refresh and fellowship. The second session resumed with another spirited time of praise and worship, re-igniting the participants’ hearts for the next impartation.
The second speaker, Kezia Chavez, a seasoned worship leader and senior youth adviser of EFC-Ajuy and EFC-Iloilo City, delivered a timely and heartfelt message entitled “Stronger Than You Think: Leaning on God’s Strength.” Drawing from Isaiah 40:29–31, she addressed the often-unspoken pressures borne by Pastors’ Kids—the burdens of expectation, the struggle against comparison, and the exhausting pursuit of perceived strength.
Kezia imparted a profound truth: “If you begin with yourself, you will end in defeat. But if you begin with God—you will end in victory, even in seasons of struggle.” She reminded the audience that being a Pastor’s Kid often feels like living under a microscope; yet, rather than striving for human perfection, they must embrace their identity in Christ and draw their strength from Him.
After a spiritually enriching morning, the Pastors’ Kids gathered for a joyful lunch, marked by laughter, shared stories, and the forging of lasting friendships across regions. Afterwards, the participants were guided to their designated hotel rooms for rest and preparation for the evening’s service.
At 4:00 PM, the evening program commenced, and once again, God’s presence was tangibly felt during praise and worship. Before the sermon, Kate and Matthew Fabales of EFC-Dao, Antique rendered a soul-stirring special number that set a reverent tone for the Word of God.
Pastor Jethro Novero then delivered a powerful message entitled “God’s Presence in a Fallen World,” anchored in Psalm 23. He poignantly illustrated how God remains present amid scarcity, wickedness, trials, hostility, and dishonor—providing rest, guidance, and comfort. Pastor Novero exhorted the Pastors’ Kids to pursue righteousness and holiness as a response to the pervasive darkness, assuring them of God’s unwavering companionship through every valley and trial. As he concluded, the altar was flooded with young hearts surrendering to God’s transformative grace.
The evening transitioned into a delightful celebration, as Rev. Benjamin Chavez, Rev. Lina Chavez, and Pastor Jethro Novero treated the participants to a joyful dinner at Jollibee—a beloved favorite that sparked much excitement. Buckets of chicken, spaghetti, fries, burgers, and ice cream adorned the tables as laughter, testimonies, and camaraderie overflowed.
After dinner, the group enjoyed a leisurely stroll through Iloilo’s Megaworld district, capturing memorable moments through photos and relishing one another’s company. The atmosphere was lighthearted, joyful, and deeply bonding.
As the day concluded, everyone returned to the hotel, hearts full and spirits renewed, eagerly anticipating what the second day would hold.
Day Two
The second day began early with a 6:00 a.m. devotional led by Rev. Benjamin Chavez and Rev. Jethro Novero. By 8:00 a.m., the day was fully underway with a spirited session of praise and worship.
Pastora. Krystle Bailingo, youth pastor of EFC-Dao, Antique, and daughter of WV Deputy Regional Director Rev. Virgilio Fabales and Rev. Lilibeth Fabales, delivered the first message entitled “Our Sacred Calling.” She highlighted how God speaks not through thunder or flame but through His persistent and patient grace, calling each one to their divine purpose. Using the story of Jonah as a backdrop, Ptr. Krystle warned of the dangers of ignoring God’s call, succumbing to spiritual slumber, and creating storms through disobedience. Yet, even Jonah’s bitter failures revealed God’s persistent mercy and His invitation to rise, repent, and fulfill His sacred assignment.
During the altar call, the Spirit of God moved powerfully as Pastor Novero urged the Pastors’ Kids to heed God’s voice and remain steadfast in their calling.
Following a brief coffee break, the praise and worship team once again led the assembly into a time of exaltation before the second speaker, Bro. Raeuelle Ken Novero, took the stage. A song leader at EFC-La Union and a licensed Medical Technologist, Raeuelle, son of Luzon Regional Director Rev. Jethro Novero and Rev. Annaliza Novero, delivered a practical and profound message on “Building Healthy Relationships.”
Drawing from Proverbs 4:23 and 1 Corinthians 15:33, he emphasized that boundaries are not about constructing walls but about cultivating wisdom. He encouraged the Pastors’ Kids to seek friendships that sharpen, challenge, and encourage them toward Christ, highlighting the necessity of accountability, confession, and intentional community in spiritual growth.
Following the morning sessions, everyone enjoyed a well-deserved lunch and siesta. At 3:00 p.m., a group photo immortalized the joy and unity of the camp.
An open forum ensued, tackling the vital topic of “How to Handle Criticism and Conflict.” In a vulnerable and supportive atmosphere, many Pastors’ Kids bravely shared their struggles, while Rev. Benjamin Chavez, Rev. Jethro Novero, and Bro. Raeuelle Novero provided wise counsel, offering biblical insights on navigating hardships with grace, humility, and resilience.
Later, the group gathered for a hearty dinner prepared by the pastors, featuring lechon baboy, chicken curry, and fruit salad—a feast that was relished by all.
The Grand Finale
The final evening service commenced with a vibrant worship session, followed by an anointed special number from Bro. BL John Chavez and Bro. Isaiah Igles. Their performance softened and prepared hearts for the message.
Rev. Benjamin Chavez then delivered a stirring sermon titled “We Can Win,” based on Psalm 46:1. He expounded on three key truths: (1) God is our Refuge—a sanctuary amidst battles; (2) God is our Strength—the resurrection power available to all believers; and (3) God is our Help—an ever-present aid in times of trouble. The message rekindled hope and empowered the young attendees to face life’s challenges anchored in divine assurance.
As the altar call was given, the Spirit of God moved mightily. Many Pastors’ Kids experienced baptism in the Holy Spirit, while others received deliverance and healing, leaving them renewed and deeply transformed.
The evening culminated in a victorious praise jam, as the young people celebrated the spiritual victories won through Christ. Hearts were ablaze once again with passion for God’s kingdom.
We extend our profound gratitude to Rev. Dr. Robert Lim, the founding chairman, and the JECPP Spiritual Leaders for their unwavering support and love in making this landmark event possible. Special thanks also to Rev. Benjamin Chavez for his visionary leadership and to Pastor Lina Chavez for her tireless dedication and meticulous preparations.
To all the pastors and Pastors’ Kids who devoted their time, energy, and passion to ensure the success of this camp, your labor of love is deeply appreciated.
To God be the highest glory!
