On July 9-10, 2024, the CEV Region held its inspiring Next Gen/Youth Camp under the leadership of Regional Director Ptr. Tito Nelson Banol. Hosted at the MJS Campsite in Boctol, Balilihan, Bohol, the event brought together 111 youth delegates and pastors from several churches, including EFC-Tacloban (42 delegates), EFC Bay-bay (12 delegates), EFC Ormoc (15 delegates), EFC-Tagbilaran (28 delegates), and EFC-Balilihan (14 delegates).
The Leyte and Tagbilaran delegates arrived on the evening of July 8, spending the night at the campsite, while the Balilihan delegates joined on the morning of July 9. The program kicked off at 8 AM on July 9 with breakfast and a briefing for all participants. The first morning session began at 9 AM, setting the stage for a series of transformative events. Despite Ptr. Nelson’s absence, the camp featured powerful messages from esteemed speakers such as Ptra. Gina Yana of EFC Balilihan, Ptr. Jeffrey Arrogante of EFC Bay-bay, Ptr. Leo Jomadiao, and Ptr. Bene T. Cabase, each delivering impactful sessions that deeply resonated with the attendees.
Despite the rainy weather, the camp’s plans, programs, and activities proceeded smoothly. Throughout their stay, campers enjoyed unlimited swimming, excellent accommodations, and sumptuous meals, thanks to the dedicated kitchen staff and volunteers who ensured every meal was delightful.
The event featured several highlights, including the Dandra Music Competition, Sports Fest, and the eagerly anticipated Barbeque Night following the final session on July 10. The youth camp proved to be a resounding success, marked by triumph over adversities and the profound impact of the messages delivered. God’s presence was palpable, and the young attendees experienced spiritual breakthroughs, particularly during the second day’s sessions, marked by heartfelt prayers, powerful intercessions, and anointed worship.
The camp fostered unity among the CEV pastors and delegates, creating a spirit of camaraderie and mutual support. The atmosphere was filled with God’s peace, joy, and love, devoid of division or competition. The delegates returned home safely, with no alarming incidents reported, making the camp an unforgettable and enriching experience.
The delegates’ eagerness to receive God’s Word was evident during the preaching sessions, where they absorbed timely messages that resonated deeply. The ultimate prayer is that the fervor ignited during the camp continues to burn brightly in their hearts as they return to their respective churches, ready to be guided, trained, molded, and empowered to serve the Lord.
On behalf of the entire CEV Region Churches, heartfelt gratitude is extended to the generous sponsors who supported and funded the registration of the youth camp delegates. Thanks also go to those who provided musical instruments and the pastors who supported the event with their prayers. Appreciation is extended to the MJS staff for their excellent accommodation, and above all, to the Lord for making this Youth Camp a memorable and transformative event.
Leyte delegates departed early on July 11, 2024, while Tagbilaran and Balilihan delegates checked out at noon and departed from MJS Campsite.
To God be all the glory!
