On November 30, 2025, Evangel Family Church Kidapawan joyfully celebrated its 20th Church Anniversary—a remarkable milestone overflowing with thanksgiving, reflection, and renewed vision. For twenty years, the Lord has faithfully sustained His church, proving time and time again that His grace is more than enough. Everything once thought impossible became possible because of His unfailing love.
One of the greatest honors of this celebration was the presence of our beloved guests, Rev. Peter Wee and his wife, Rev. Christine Wee. Their visit brought encouragement, affirmation, and spiritual refreshing to the entire congregation. For many members, it was their first time meeting them in person, making the moment even more meaningful.
By God’s abundant provision, the celebration flowed beautifully from start to finish. As early as 8:00 AM, members began arriving and were welcomed with delicious pica-pica, joyful conversations, and warm fellowship. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as everyone waited for the morning service to begin at 9:45 AM. When Rev. Peter and Rev. Christine arrived, the joy multiplied as the church family embraced the long-awaited privilege of meeting them—an answered prayer fulfilled.
After moments of heartfelt prayer, the service started right on time, and the atmosphere shifted as Don Moen’s “Thank You, Lord” filled the sanctuary. It was a song often sung during the church’s early years in Kidapawan but had not been sung for nearly 19 years. Yet in that moment, it felt as though God Himself brought it back to remind us of His faithfulness through every season—victories, trials, moments of waiting, and breakthroughs. The congregation sang with deep emotion, sensing the Lord whisper, “Look at how far I have brought you.”
Rev. Peter and Rev. Christine honored us—Rev. Tony J. Angelias and myself— with heartfelt words that truly moved us. We were overwhelmed to receive a large plaque of appreciation and a generous love offering—an unexpected blessing we joyfully returned to God, for all glory belongs to Him alone.
Rev. Peter then delivered a powerful and life-changing message entitled “Dream Again,” drawing from Acts 2:17 and Genesis 37:9. He reminded us that a dream is a picture of what could be and what should be, and that God uses our gifts and desires not only to bless our lives but to expand His Kingdom. He quoted Pablo Picasso, saying every child is born an artist, but the challenge is remaining one as we grow older. He also shared Dr. David Yonggi Cho’s words that dreams and visions are the language of the Holy Spirit, paired with the truth of Proverbs 29:18, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
Rev. Peter emphasized three powerful truths: It is not too late, God is not done, and they must never forget the Dream Giver. With boldness, he proclaimed that God is continually calling His people into their future and encouraged us not to let a few hinder us from impacting many. Dreaming, he said, is never about oneself alone; it is about the harvest of souls waiting to be reached. His message awakened something deep within the congregation, stirring our hearts to dream again.
As the worship team led the response song “Way Maker,” the Holy Spirit moved mightily. Hands lifted, tears flowed, and hearts were softened before God. The Lord was speaking not only to the pastors but to the entire congregation. Pastor Christine prayed passionately, declaring that the church will continue to exist for the purpose of bringing many souls to Jesus.
The service concluded with a touching act of love—an appreciation offered to us by the members. Our hearts were deeply moved as we expressed our gratitude for their love, support, and partnership in the ministry. We also honored Rev. Peter and Rev. Christine for their role in sending us as JECPP missionaries to this place—a calling we hold dearly. The morning ended with joyful fellowship, delicious food, and plenty of picture-taking to preserve the beautiful memories.
The celebration continued into the evening with an equally meaningful and lively program. New visitors filled the sanctuary as the anniversary was integrated with an evangelistic gathering, where the message of salvation was shared clearly and compassionately. Different departments presented their God-given talents, filling the night with creativity, unity, and heartfelt worship. Members were honored through tokens, certificates, and recognitions, celebrating their faithfulness and service to the church. The atmosphere overflowed with joy, laughter, worship, and heartfelt gratitude.
As we look back, we see nothing but the grace of God. As we look around, we see His goodness displayed in every life, testimony, and victory. As we look ahead, we hold tightly to His promises, believing that twenty years is only the beginning. With renewed vision and awakened dreams, we step boldly into the next chapter—full of faith, hope, and a burning passion to reach many more souls for Jesus.
To God be all the glory, now and forever!
