Psalm 145:13 proclaims, “For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The Lord always keeps His promises; He is gracious in all He does.” With this verse as the guiding theme, Evangel Family Church Mati joyfully celebrated its 30th Church Anniversary on September 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM—a blessed occasion that highlighted God’s steadfast faithfulness throughout the years.
The program began with a heartfelt devotional prayer, setting a reverent and thankful atmosphere. This was followed by a powerful time of praise and worship, where the congregation lifted their hands and voices to glorify God. The praise and worship became a way for everyone to express gratitude, honor His greatness, and prepare their hearts to receive His Word. The congregation actively participated, singing with joy and reverence.
After worship, the emcee warmly welcomed all guests and attendees, shared the weekly church announcements, and encouraged everyone to give their tithes and offerings as an act of obedience and thanksgiving. Rev. Delia Miguel then introduced the guest speaker, Rev. Peter Wee, whom she honored as her mentor and spiritual father. Before delivering his message, Rev. Peter Wee presented a Token of Appreciation to Rev. Delia Miguel and Rev. Renante Miguel in recognition of their 30 years of faithful service to God and the church.
Rev. Peter Wee then preached a powerful message entitled “Occupy God’s Promises,” based on Numbers 13:28–30. He encouraged the congregation to claim the promises of God, just as Joshua and Caleb trusted in God’s provision and did not fear the challenges before them. He shared the four reasons why believers often remain outside God’s promises: walls, giants, strong opposition, and difficult terrain—but emphasized that the real cause is unbelief (Hebrews 3:19). He urged the congregation to grow in faith (Romans 1:17), reminding them that faith is a gift from God and must be received and acted upon.
Rev. Wee also inspired the congregation to reject intimidation and fear, declaring Joshua and Caleb’s words: “You can do it!” He encouraged them to keep speaking faith over their lives and others because, with God by their side, nothing is impossible. He also warned against the “Grasshopper Mentality,” where believers see themselves as small and powerless, reminding the church that how they see themselves determines how the enemy sees them. He challenged the congregation to allow God to show them who they truly are in Christ and to surround themselves with the right people. His message was both empowering and refreshing, encouraging the congregation to stay anchored in God’s promises and to step into the future with bold faith. He concluded with a prayer for the entire congregation.
Following the preaching, there was a photo opportunity and a touching video presentation showcasing the journey of faith of EFC Mati, highlighting God’s constant faithfulness over the years. Several church leaders also gave living testimonies of how God had worked mightily in their lives.
A fellowship dinner followed, where everyone enjoyed the delicious food prepared by the food committee. After dinner, the church joyfully opened the packages brought by Rev. Peter Wee and Rev. Christine Wee, which was given by Bro. Ivan Tan from Singapore. Each member and leader had the opportunity to choose a gift, and everyone expressed their gratitude for the blessings they received. The celebration continued with fun games organized for each church department, with prizes awarded to the winners, creating an atmosphere of joy and unity.
The program concluded with a closing prayer led by Rev. Renante Miguel, followed by the restoration of the church venue. The 30th Church Anniversary of Evangel Family Church Mati was truly a blissful and memorable celebration. Despite the challenges and preparations, the event was a great success—a beautiful reminder that God is indeed faithful to His promises. EFC Mati was also deeply thankful for the Word and visit shared by Rev. Peter Wee and Rev. Christine Wee, whose presence and message profoundly blessed the congregation.
