The Davao del Sur Section joyfully held its much-awaited Music Team Workshop on August 21, 2025, bringing together passionate and eager church musicians for a day of training, fellowship, and inspiration. The event was graciously led by the Evangel Davao Music Team, a group of talented, dedicated, and spirit-filled trainers who not only shared their musical expertise but also imparted their heart for genuine worship.
The workshop featured four dynamic trainers, each specializing in their respective fields. On drums was the skillful and energetic Justine Trina Kintanar, whose teaching on warm-ups, rolls, and timing emphasized discipline and precision. Handling the electric and acoustic guitar was the versatile and highly gifted Adrian Pangilinan, who guided the participants through scales, modes, chord progressions, and improvisation, inspiring them to play with creativity and confidence. On bass guitar, Andrew Niccolo Pangilinan offered practical and foundational lessons on rhythm, chord theory, dynamics, and efficient practice, stressing the importance of unity between bass and drums in every worship team. For worship leading and vocals, the vibrant and passionate Joy Pangilinan provided instruction on breathing, vocalization, timing, listening, and adlibs, with additional harmony tips from Adrian, all aimed at equipping singers to lead worshippers with sensitivity and anointing.
A total of nineteen enthusiastic delegates from the music ministries of Kidapawan and Magsaysay churches eagerly joined the sessions, embracing every lesson with excitement. Their hunger to learn was evident, as many had long awaited this kind of training to enhance their skills and deepen their calling as worshippers.
The success of the workshop was made possible through the generous support of JECPP and EFC Davao, especially Rev. Christine Wee and Rev. Peter Wee, who approved and financed the event. Because of their unwavering support, the seminar was completely free of charge and included delicious meals and snacks that kept everyone energized throughout the day. The program, which ran from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, was not only about musical growth but also about building relationships.
To make the gathering more memorable, the host church, EFC Kidapawan, gave participants the delightful opportunity to taste the city’s famous durian and marang fruits. This simple yet joyful bonding time strengthened friendships and created unforgettable moments before the trainers returned to Davao.
Indeed, the Davao del Sur Section Music Team Workshop was more than just a seminar—it was a milestone of growth, unity, and inspiration. The participants left better equipped, deeply encouraged, and spiritually renewed, ready to serve the Lord as excellent, committed, and spirit-filled musicians in the Evangel Family Church. To God be all the glory!
