EFA started on November 20, 2006 by a Singaporean couple, Rev Chuck and Jocelyn Chua, missionaries from Evangel Family Church, Singapore. It commenced as a small pre-school with 38 students in a crime-ridden and drug-infested community in M. J. Cuenco Ave, Cebu City, Philippines. By the following year, enrollment has increased to 72.

The name of the school is a faith response to the sense of hopelessness among the residents , young and adult alike, in the depressed community. In engenders hope of better days and a brighter future for the children. To mold the next generation is to mold the future of the nation. Truly, today’s kids are tomorrow’s leaders.

AIMS AND CHARACTERISTICS

The school’s objective is to raise a premium private school with a nominal monthly school fee affordable to the general public, especially the MJ Cuenco community. It aims to offer quality education at the public school rate. But to inculcate responsible parenthood, the school holds all parents responsible for other basic school necessities such a uniforms for their children.

The school seeks to provide optimum condition for students to strive for excellence; to promote encouraging environment for spiritual, intellectual, relational and physical growth; and to prepare pupils to adopt the mindset and accept the challenge to serve as a true servant leaders in society. The motto of the school is “ School for the Future Leaders” and the modem of a true servant leader is the Lord Jesus Christ. Aside from academic training, the school instills biblical values through songs, memory verses and story-telling. Sunday school is also made mandatory for the spiritual formation of all students. EFA aims to raise leaders of skill and character for the future- future leaders for the nation, for the community and for God’s church. Hence, the school works at inspiring her students to return in the future to teach in the school and to serve in the community.

The school draws its inspiration to provide free quality education from a very special couple – Rev Drs. Robert and Marion Lime, Founding Pastor and Senior Pastor of Evangel Family Church, Singapore. Their live have touched countless around the world, including many individuals in M.J Cuenco community. Their constant love, persevering prayer and generous support have made the school possible. In honor of their commitment to server God and serve people, the ROBERT AND MARION LIM PEACE FOUNDATION, INC. has been inaugurated, of which the school comes under.
