ECME
Our Beginnings
ECME, formerly called EMS (Evangel Missions School), was started towards the end of 1991 when Rev. Dr. Robert Lim, founding chairman of JECPP, saw the plight of many young Filipinos who have the call for missions yet there’s no available training.
In its founding year, EMS was more of a church school based in Brgy Cubay, Jaro, Iloilo City. There were six students who were all members of Evangel Iloilo, the first mission church of Evangel Singapore in the Philippines.
In May 1993, Rev. Dr. Robert Lim shared his vision of planting 100 churches in the Philippines by the year 2000. With this, Jireh Evangel Church Planting Philippines, Inc (JECPP) was officially formed in 1993 and EMS became the official “Training Wing” of JECPP. The following year, trainees from non-Evangel churches throughout the different parts of Philippines were accepted for training and sent out as church planters.
With the vision of 100 churches fulfilled towards the end of 1999, Rev. Dr. Robert Lim shared with all the JECPP Spiritual Leaders that missions training must never stop, but rather, it was high time for Filipinos to rise up and venture into missions abroad.
Consequently, the name EMS was changed to ECME, meaning, Evangel Centre for Missions & Evangelism. Its location was then moved to a new location at E. Lopez Jaro with a new logo. It’s a new frontier for ECME, with some changes in its curriculum, preparing the students for local as well as foreign missions.
As of this writing, ECME has trained at least 200 students, out of which, 152 have officially graduated and all are sent out to the various parts of the Philippines doing church planting.

Our Mission
ECME exists to prepare, train and equip young Filipino men and women to become church planters for the whole island of the Philippines as well as to other countries. To reach this end, every student is being molded with God’s help to develop a close relationship with God and a fullness of His Spirit, a sound biblical knowledge and ministerial skills ready to win souls for the Kingdom of God as the “day draweth near”.
Our Curriculum
There are three concentrations in the curriculum throughout the 8-months training: Bible Knowledge, Ministry Skills and Spiritual Formation. Aside from this, the students are exposed to actual ministry exposure like cell groups, door-to-door evangelism, teaching Sunday School classes as well as assisting in the various barangay churches plus 2 missions trip to the provinces conducting evangelistic meetings.
Instructors comprise mainly of pastors from JECPP churches, from other denominations as well as
Singaporean missionaries.
