With the Christmas season fast approaching, Evangel Iloilo went in full gear...to spread Christmas blessings, as is their yearly custom. Since November, the entire church was mobilized...and every single evangelite joyfully gave just in time for Christmas.

Whether in the form of cash or rice, from the young one’s ... to the young at heart...all gave in one accord. In summary, 65 sacks of rice were donated and packed accordingly in 5 kg packets, ready for distribution. Sounds a bit santa clausy...but we did just that, freely giving...being  St. Nick for a day!

We were no sooner greeted with well-wishes from the people of Tabuc Suba ...some now familiar faces, our hearts warmed by their acceptance and gratitude. Their extended arms gestures, of what the love of God can do each Christmas. And this was what Christmas is all about...gladtidings and goodwill to men, is God’s loving hand extended...through each and every one of us.

Both Pastor Tohnee and Pastor Lily joined in the distribution...the Lord giving us a ‘cloud by day’ and fresh breeze when we were expecting the mid-afternoon sweltering heat...it was as if God was smiling down from heaven...pleased at this simple act of goodwill...to strangers who have now become kin...in this most Blessed of season!

A total of 589 households were recipients in this year’s ‘Bugas Blessing,,’ and  it was our simple way of spreading a wee bit of that Christmas cheer in this small corner of Iloilo city!
