Cagayan de Oro Region Prayer Walk

Last Sept 24, 2011, EFC Cagayan de Oro joined all JECPP churches to saturate with intercessory prayers the streets and the communities all over the country. The purpose of the prayer walk with the theme “Let’s Plant Churches!” is two-fold: the destruction of demonic strongholds that take captive our communities and the softening of people’s heart to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Hours before the synchronized prayer walk was scheduled to start, there was a sizable outpouring of rain. But it did not stop the hearts of CDO Evangelites in taking part in this spiritual undertaking. To them, it’s a great, exciting opportunity to participate in what God is going to do for the nation.

The whole group of participants was divided into three according to the regions and assigned to 3 starting points in different locations in Cagayan de Oro: region A (with 18 members) in MacArthur Park, region B (with 32 people attending) in Limketkai Center and Region C (with 27 members in attendance) in Gaston Park. All regions walked from their designated places and converged at Evangel Family Church in Cogon.

Plus, there were 85 people who also participated in the prayer walk from different outstation churches in the whole CDO region. That sums up to a total of 162 evangelites who actively took part in the prayer walk in CDO region.

As they walk along the streets, they prayed intently in their hearts. They passed along different communities and it’s great to know that although the people were not hearing the prayers, God was already doing something marvelous in their hearts. And that makes the prayer walk fulfilling.

After all regions arrived in the church, the participants prayed again for our communities and our country. When the prayer was over, they were treated to a simple yet superb breakfast!

To some, prayer walk may be just another exhausting exercise. But it’s not. To EFC Evangelites, it is a joy for them to take part in prayer walk and so, they are eagerly waiting for the next one to come.
