It has always been a sweet reminder to us whenever the opening and closing of classes commences. Since the pioneering batch, up to this year’s fifth batch, is but a reflection of God’s favour, grace and mercy upon Evangel Futurekids Academy (EFA) that caters to the underprivileged community children of M.J. Cuenco. EFA runs virtually free because of His supernatural provision all these years, and for that we are very grateful to God and to the people whom He used to support this ministry. God bless you richly!
EFA has been catering to preschoolers for about 4 years now. All our graduates were mainstreamed to grade schools nearby, with most of them in public schools. This scenario birthed the desire and hope in the heart of our School Director Rev Jocelyn Chua, to upgrade it to the Grade School level. Indeed in God’s perfect timing and favour, He opened the door for us. Two months after submitting the pertinent papers supporting the school’s credibility to open and operate grade school, EFA passed the preliminary inspection conducted by the Department of Education (DepEd) – Cebu City inspecting team. This gladdened our hearts, but still it was not a ticket to commence grade school. We needed to wait for the Final Inspection to be conducted by the DepEd Regional Head Office. And true enough, we waited for more than a year. Sometimes we just can’t have what we want when we want it. But that doesn’t mean we can never have it. Everything takes place at the right time. It is not NO, it is just NOT NOW. One thing we know for sure is that God is in full control!
Just last April 2011, a day before the long weekend of Holy Week, DepED Head Office inspecting team came for their final inspection. And guess what? One of the inspecting personnel by the name of Dr. Sambrano, was once an “insider”. She grew up from the community and she was actually delighted to know that there was a school like EFA offering such good basic quality education. God really orchestrated everything perfectly for His glory! Thankfully, after they checked through the humble facilities of the school, Dr. Degamo, head of the inspection team, gave a positive and a favorable comment especially to the School Director Rev Jocelyn Chua for heading and organizing the school very well. The team was even very thankful for educating the community children. Praise God!
Without delay, we opened the enrolment from Preschool to Gradeschool (specifically Grades 1 and 2). Just last month, EFA would have been on its 5th year of operation. We formally commenced the school year with 130 students; 44 of whom are Kinder One, 40 are kinder Two, 27 are in Grade One while 17 are Grade Two students. After waiting for God’s leading, we witnessed the fruition of our desire and vision. We fully know that alongside our joy and excitement for this school year, are challenges waiting ahead of us, but we are confident that God will see us through all the way!
Consequently, we are processing and working towards the issuance of the Government Recognition of our Preschoo,l as well as with our Grade School. In the meantime, we were given a Temporary Permit by the Department of Education to formally and legally open and operate both levels (Preschool and Gradeschool). This means that EFA is now in the Official List of DepED’s Accredited School in the Philippines particularly in Cebu City. God indeed deserves to be praised! Thanks for all your support and prayers.
