ENCOUNTER IN PASSI CITY

Oct. 27 -28, 2011

It was definitely a first, when our outstations in Roxas City, Dao Capiz, Ajuy, Pototan and Passi congregated in Evangel Passi for the much awaited ‘Encounter Retreat.’ It was solely organized by the Coastal section, and through their joint efforts were able to gather 90 delegates for this specific occasion.

These were ministers and workers who have toiled the many years in ministry, desirous to catch a touch, if only....during the two day retreat. However, as was evident during  the first session, we sensed  a hindrance in the service. Obviously the enemy was not pleased, however God was still sovereign, inclining His spirit to these faithful labourers in Christ. Thus, during the session on ‘Deliverance’ the spirit of God fell upon the service. There was literally a sense of being freed from the grasp of the enemy, his hold upon our lives, and being delivered into liberty and restoration!

Evidently, the anointing would break the many yokes that kept these people bound, from God’s purpose and victory. That was definitely just the beginning, and in the succeeding sessions the Holy Spirit fell  again and again like torrents, upon parched souls.

Symbolically on the last night, we experienced a heavy downpour, signifying God’s spirit pouring out on all those who were present. And as the worship  leader led us in the song “Rain Down, ” we literally sensed God presence coming down to earth Himself. Many were baptised in the Holy Spirit, and as the Holy Spirit flowed, prophecies were released, and jointly we lifted our hearts to worship Him in the Spirit, with tongues and words intelligible. Once more, vision was restored and coupled with a fresh fire that was set ablaze in all our hearts!

The night would draw to a close, and as we fellowshipped round  the table, we sensed a renewed vigor to do the work of God, and excitedly plans were in the making for another retreat next year, and a major one at that from the look of things!

.... and to this we give God all the glory and praises!
