Joy and gratefulness filled the air as Evangel Family Church Magsaysay gathered to celebrate a milestone, the 20th Thanksgiving Celebration—Adlaw sa Pagpasalamat 2024. This was not just a time to feast, but a powerful moment of praise and reflection for the countless blessings God had poured upon His people. In trials faced, victories won, and every moment in between, the congregation stood united, thanking the Lord for His steadfast guidance and overflowing grace.
With the leadership of Rev. Sanny M. Padua and Rev. Rosepen T. Padua, the event focused on gratitude as leaders and members joined hands in worship, lifting up their praise for the many blessings God had showered on each heart. Joyful songs of praise and heartfelt prayers set the tone for the unforgettable day. One of the most touching moments came when Sister Beverly Pajel, a dedicated teacher, shared her testimony. After a long period of waiting and trusting God for a much-needed school reassignment to ease her burdens, her prayers were finally answered on August 27, 2024. Her joy was a living testament to God’s faithfulness. She said, “You do have God, and now trust His will and love your season of waiting.” Her story inspired everyone, reminding them of the beauty in trusting God’s perfect timing and his unshakeable promises.
The gathering soon transformed into a festival of praise as Sister Sanrose Padua and the EFC-Magsaysay Music Team led the congregation into an atmosphere of worship. Every song became a prayer, and every note a declaration of God’s goodness. Hearts were prepared for the day’s spiritual feast, the Word of God, delivered by guest speaker Rev. Liza A. Angelias, Associate Pastor of EFC Kidapawan. Her message, titled “Take Your Mountains,” was inspired by the story of Caleb, a man whose unwavering faith inspired generations. Through Bible verses from Numbers 13-14 and Joshua 14:6-15, she emphasized Caleb’s unrelenting determination in the face of delays, discouragement, and immense challenges. Rev. Angelias called on the congregation to face their mountains—be it struggles, dreams, or victories—believing that through faith in God, they would receive the promises He had kept for them.
Her words stirred hearts, challenging the congregation to rise with courage and claim their God-given victories. In response, the church erupted in worship, led by Rev. Tony Angelias, Vice Chairman of Jireh-Evangel Church Planting (Phils.) Inc., and the EFC Music Team. As the congregation lifted their praises and surrendered to the Holy Spirit, the room became a sanctuary of divine encounter. It was a sacred moment, a reminder that in God’s presence, hearts are transformed, strengthened, and filled with purpose.
As the service came to a close, appreciation flowed from all directions. Rev. Liza and Tony Angelias were honored with a certificate of appreciation and a love offering for sharing God’s Word. In a surprise gesture, the couple presented a plaque of appreciation to Rev. Sanny and Rosepen Padua, celebrating their 20 years of faithful service to the ministry. This heartfelt recognition was echoed by Rev. Peter Wee, Senior Overseer of JECPP, and his wife, Rev. Christine Wee, who also expressed their gratitude and support. The host pastors expressed their deep thanks for the guidance of their spiritual leaders and for the community that stood by them over the years.
No Thanksgiving Celebration would be complete without an offering of thanks. As the congregation sang “Salamat, Salamat” and “Ibuhos Mo,” members came forward with their offerings, each one a symbol of the abundant blessings they had received. The day culminated with the song “Imo Lang,” a declaration of God’s greatness and acknowledgment that all glory and honor belong to Him alone.
Rev. Liza Angelias closed the program in prayer, and although the celebration ended, its impact remained in the hearts of all who were present. Adlaw sa Pagpasalamat 2024 was not just an event—it was a testament to God’s faithfulness, a celebration of His provision, and a call to continue walking in His grace.
As Evangel Family Church Magsaysay reflects on 20 years of ministry, they stand in awe of God’s goodness, knowing that without His love and guidance, this journey would not have been possible. Together with their pastors, the entire EFC Magsaysay family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the celebration’s success—from spiritual leaders to guest speakers, and every member. Above all, their highest thanks go to their Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, who sustains, strengthens, and provides for them every step of the way.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Glory be to God!”
